Purpose: The race has been organized to raise money for creating a permanent playground at
Shenorock Park. .
Course: mostly flat fast course with downhill finish.
Children’s Races: under 5 (200 meters), and 6 and up (400 meters). Registration fee for child: $2.00, all
children receive medal (no t-shirt)
Awards: Top 3 overall and top place in each age group, and award to person who raises the most
money for the park in sponsorship dollars. Awards to be presented immediately following race.
Post Race Party: Refreshments, Massages, Food and Live Music

Directions:
From Taconic State Parkway Northbound and Southbound: Exit Rt 6 Mahopac, go East on Rt 6. towards
Mahopac for several lights and make a right onto Rt 118 (Getty & Mobil Stations on left, Somers
Commons on right). After about 1 mile turn left into Shenorock on Overhill Dr. Turn right onto Shenorock
Dr. Start is at UOA Clubhouse on Shenorock Dr.
From I-684 Southbound: Exit 8, Hardscrabble Rd, turn left at end of ramp. Follow into Croton Falls and
go under RR Bridge. After the bridge, turn left onto Croton Falls Rd and take about 4.5 miles into
Mahopac. Turn left onto Rt 6 at traffic light (firehouse on left). Follow Rt 6 until you reach Baldwin Place,
turn left onto Rt. 118 (Mobil Station on right, Texaco on left). After 1 mile turn left into the hamlet of
Shenorock on Overhill Dr. Turn right onto Shenorock Dr. Start is at UOA Clubhouse on Shenorock Dr.

Shenorock Run/Walk for the Park, Sunday, July 9, 2006 • 5k ROAD RACE • REGISTRATION
I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am
medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my
ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but
not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or
humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
Having read this waiver and knowing these effects and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for
myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Town of Somers, the UOA of
Shenorock, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims of liabilities of any
kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or
carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing
to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate
purpose. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or blades, animals, and
radio headsets are not allowed in the race and I will abide by this guideline.
